How to use HWP viewer

What it does

Opens and reads a Hangul document (.hwp, .hwpx) right on this device. Pages are drawn as pictures, and the text on them can be selected and copied. It does not edit or save documents.

Step by step

  1. Drop the HWP or HWPX file onto the screen, or click to choose it.
  2. When the document opens, the pages run from top to bottom. Only the pages near the screen are drawn, so a long document is not drawn all at once.
  3. Use the arrow buttons in the bar below to go to the previous or next page, or just scroll. The number is the page you are looking at, shown like 3 / 24.
  4. Under zoom, choose “Fit width” or a value from 50% to 200%. There is also a full screen button.
  5. To copy text, drag over the text on a page to select it.
  6. To turn the file into something else, open a converter under “What you can do with this file” on the right.

Frequently asked questions

Can I copy the text in the document?
Yes. Drag over the text on a page to select it, then copy. Text inside equations, pictures and shapes may not be selectable.
It looks different from what I saw in Hangul.
Hancom's fonts are not available, so pages are drawn with Pretendard. Letter shapes and line breaks can differ a little. Tables, pictures and page size are followed.
Can I edit the document or save it as a PDF?
This viewer is read-only. For a PDF or a text file, open “HWP converter” on the right. For HWPX, “HWPX converter” turns it into Word or text.
