How to use Page numbers

What it does

Adds a page number to every page of a PDF and saves a new PDF. You choose the position, the style and the start number.

Step by step

  1. Drop a PDF onto the screen, or click to choose one.
  2. Under “Position”, pick “Vertical” (Top, Bottom) and “Horizontal” (Left, Center, Right). It starts on “Bottom center”. The position you pick shows right away on the first-page preview.
  3. Under “Numbering”, pick the “Style”: “1”, “1 / N” or “- 1 -”. It starts on “1 / N”.
  4. In “Start number”, write the number for the first page. It starts at 1.
  5. Click “Add numbers”, then “Save”. The file name is the original name plus “-numbered”.

Frequently asked questions

How do I put page numbers at the bottom right?
Under “Position”, set “Vertical” to “Bottom” and “Horizontal” to “Right”. You can check the spot on the first-page preview.
Can I start from a number other than 1?
Yes. Write the number you want in “Start number”. 0 works too. There is no setting to leave the first page without a number, though.
Does it change my original PDF?
No. The numbered PDF is saved as a new file, and the original stays as it is.
