How to use Crop

What it does

Crops the margins of a PDF by choosing the area to keep on a page. You can apply it to every page in the same proportion, or crop only the page in the preview.

Step by step

  1. Drop a PDF onto the screen, or click to choose one.
  2. Drag on the page preview to draw the area to keep. Drag the box to move it, and use the dots on its edges to resize it. The size you keep shows in “Keeping”, in pt. If the PDF has several pages, step through them with “Preview page”.
  3. Under “Area to keep”, pick “All pages” or “This page only” in “Pages to crop”. It starts on “All pages”.
  4. Click “Crop pages”.
  5. Click “Save”. The file name is the original name plus “-cropped”.

Frequently asked questions

Can I crop just one page?
Yes. Pick “This page only” in “Pages to crop” and only the page in the preview is cropped. Step to that page with “Preview page” first.
Does cropping make the file smaller?
This is not a tool for making files smaller. It does not delete the cut-off part; it only changes the visible area.
How do I remove the cropped content for good?
This tool cannot, because the cut-off part stays in the file. To remove content, use “Redact”.
