How to use Fill form

What it does

Fills in the fields inside a PDF and saves it as a new PDF. It only works on form PDFs that have fields. It is not a tool for writing text directly onto a PDF that has no fields.

Step by step

  1. Drop a PDF onto the screen, or click to choose one. It finds the fields and lists them.
  2. Fill in the fields on the “Text fields” and “Choices” tabs. Clicking a field on the first-page preview also jumps to that item.
  3. If you need it, turn on “Flatten fields so they can’t be edited” on the “Save” tab. It starts off.
  4. Click “Fill form”. It works only after you change at least one value.
  5. Click “Save”. The file name is the original name with “-filled” added.

Frequently asked questions

Can I write on a PDF that has no fields?
No. This tool can only fill a PDF that has fields in it. A print-only PDF or a scan shows “This PDF has no form fields”.
Can I fill in Korean text?
Yes. The PDF’s standard font can’t draw it, so a font goes into the PDF. That can make the file bigger. Flattened, only the characters used go in, so it grows by a few KB.
Does it change my original PDF?
No. The filled PDF is saved as a new file, and the original stays as it is.
