How to use Screen recorder

What it does

Record your screen, a window or a browser tab as video. You can also record microphone sound along with it. The video is processed on your device and is not uploaded.

Step by step

To include your own voice, on the “Input” tab switch “Also record my microphone” to “On”. It starts “Off”. When it is on, a “Microphone” list appears.
Click “Start recording”. The browser opens a prompt for choosing what to share: a screen, a window or a tab. Pick one and click Share.
To include the screen's sound, turn on audio sharing in that prompt.
While recording, “Screen being recorded” shows a live view and the recording time counts up.
Click “Recording · Stop”. Ending the share with the browser's stop-sharing button also stops the recording.
When it finishes, use “Save” to download the file. To start over, click “Record again”.

Good to know

If you turn the microphone on, the browser asks to use it the first time. The sound of the shared screen and the microphone are mixed into one sound.
If you don't allow sharing, the message “Screen sharing wasn't allowed” appears. Click “Start recording” again, pick a screen or window, then click Share.
You can't choose the save format. The recording is saved as it was recorded: WebM if the browser supports WebM, otherwise MP4.
The file name is “screen-recording” followed by the date and time, for example screen-recording_20261101_1423.webm.
In a browser that can't record, the message “This browser can't record” appears. Open the page in the latest Chrome, Edge or Safari.
