How to use Change volume

What it does

Make the sound of an audio file louder or quieter. Set the volume as a percentage from 0% to 300%, and the same ratio is applied to the whole file. The file is processed on your device and is not uploaded.

Step by step

  1. Drop an audio file onto the page, or click to choose one.
  2. On the “Volume” tab, type a number into the “Volume” field or move the “Adjust” slider. You can also click “Quiet” (50%), “Original” (100%), “Loud” (150%) or “Very loud” (200%) under “Presets”. The starting value is 150%.
  3. Play the file to hear the new volume. If you change the value while it plays, the change is heard right away.
  4. If “Expected peak” goes above 1.00, those parts distort. Click “Fit automatically” to set the volume to the highest level that stays clean.
  5. On the “Format” tab, choose WAV or MP3. The default is WAV.
  6. Click “Change volume”. When it finishes, use “Save” to download the file.
